Aline Serfaty

Dr. Aline Serfaty is a practicing musculoskeletal radiologist and medical director at MedscanLagos, in Cabo Frio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since December 2020, she is the president of the Radiology Society of Rio de Janeiro. She graduated with a degree in medicine from the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro and completed her residency at the Universidade Federal Fluminense. She is on the advisory board at Medscape and is a member of several radiology societies in Brazil as well as the International Skeletal Society. She has authored and co-authored original research and book chapters in musculoskeletal radiology and presented at national and international conferences. Since 2019 she is one of the coordinators of the Musculoskeletal Imaging Group of Rio de Janeiro that promotes education and partnership among Brazilian radiologists. In 2021, she received her PhD from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro with a thesis on imaging in axial spondyloarthritis.

Lopes Viana, Sergio

Sergio Lopes Viana

Dr. Sergio Lopes Viana is a practicing musculoskeletal radiologist at the Hospital da Criança de Brasília (Brasília Children’s Hospital) in Brasília, Brazil, with a particular interest in rheumatology, pediatric musculoskeletal imaging, and articular injuries, also being a full member of the Brazilian College of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging. He graduated with a degree in Medicine from the Universidade Federal do Piauí (Teresina, Brazil) in 1995 and completed residencies in Internal Medicine at the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (Recife, Brazil, 1997) and in Radiology at the Hospital de Base do Distrito Federal (Brasília, Brazil, 2000). He co-authored the books “Diagnóstico por imagem em reumatologia” (Guanabara-Koogan, 2007) and “Joint imaging in childhood and adolescence” (Springer, 2013 [1st ed] and 2019 [2nd ed]). His publications also include five book chapters and dozens of articles published in Brazil and abroad. He has also lectured extensively on musculoskeletal imaging as a guest speaker throughout Brazil.

Aita, Alessandroa A.

Alessandroa A. Aita

Dr. Alessandro Amorim Aita is a radiologist with oncology and musculoskeletal subspecialty in São Paulo, Brazil, and his base in Teresina, Piauí State, Brazil. He obtained his medical degree from the State University of Piauí in 2000, and completed his residency at the Hospital do Câncer A. C . Camargo in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2004. He was part of the radiology team at Sarah Kubistchek Hospital in Brasília from 2005 to 2015. After several courses in musculoskeletal radiology in Brazil and the U.S., he also completed studies in business management with a focus on strategy from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, graduating with an MBA. Dr. Aita is a member of several societies of radiology in Brazil, the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and the International Stress Management Association (ISMA). He is also appointed assistant professor at the Universidade Catolica de Brasília and executive coordinator of TeleHealth HU Ebserh as well as supervisor of the radiology residency program.

Cantarelli, Tatiane

Tatiane Cantarelli

She is a practicing musculoskeletal radiologist at HCOR and Teleimagem in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she trained during her clinical musculoskeletal fellowship. She is also a former research fellow at NYU and a member of several radiology societies in Brazil. She has authored or co-authored articles on the musculoskeletal field and she is a very active msk educator, lecturing in several Brazilian Radiology Meetings.

Canella, Clarissa

Clarissa Canella

She is an Adjunct Professor of MSK Radiology at Universidade Federal Fluminense and a practicing radiologist of DASA group, currently working at Clínica de Diagnóstico por Imagem and ALTA Excelência Diagnóstica. She graduated with a degree in medicine from Universidade Gama Filho, completed a musculoskeletal fellowship at CHRU, Lille, France, a research fellowship at the University of California, San Diego and a PhD at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She is very involved in MSK research having authored and co-authored original research and book chapters. She is also very active in MSK education as she has presented in several Brazilian and International Conferences. She is a member of several radiology societies in Brazil and a member of the International Skeletal Society, being nominated as the chairman of its Outreach Program. 
 

Abaeté, Francisco

Francisco Abaeté

Dr. Francisco Abaeté das Chagas-Neto is an associate professor of musculoskeletal Radiology at Christus University Center, in Fortaleza/CE, northeast Brazil. He completed residency, his musculoskeletal fellowship as well as his doctoral degree at Ribeirão Preto Medical School University of SP. He is the section head of musculoskeletal imaging and director of the MSK fellowship program at Antonio Prudente Hospital in Fortaleza. He is also very involved in musculoskeletal radiology education having presented at radiologic national and international conferences. He is interested in all areas of MSK imaging and intervention, with emphasis on Sports Medicine. He is also a member of the International Skeletal Society.

Rodrigo Aguiar

He is a practicing MSK Radiologist at Clínica DAPI and an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Paraná, Brasil, where he graduated with a degree in medicine. He completed a research fellowship with Dr. Donald Resnick at the University of California, San Diego and a PhD at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He is interested in all areas of MSK imaging, with emphasis on sports imaging and rheumatology. Julio Brandão Guimarães

Julio Brandão Guimarães, MD, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Federal University of Sao Paulo. He completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship in Musculoskeletal and Quantitative Imaging in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California San Francisco, USA, where he currently is an associate researcher. He is an active member of the Radiological Society of North America and the International Skeletal Society. Dr. Guimaraes authored and coauthored over 30 peer-reviewed articles. He is a reviewer for the journal Skeletal Radiology. His specific areas of research interest include hereditary and inflammatory myopathies and musculoskeletal oncology. He is involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows at the Federal University of Sao Paulo.

Karina Todeschini

Dr. Karina Todeschini is a practicing MSK Radiologist and Medical Director at Santa Monica Imagem. She graduated with a degree in medicine from the University of Caxias do Sul with a fellowship in MSK diagnostic and interventional radiology at Hospital das Clínicas de São Paulo (INRAD-USP) and a mini-fellowship at CHU, Lille, France. Sabrina Veras

Dr Sabrina Veras is a practicing radiologist at Clínica Felippe Mattoso, where she is also involved with education coordinating the fellowship program. She graduated with a degree in medicine from the Federal University of Piaui and completed a medical residency in radiology and a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at Santa Casa de São Paulo. She attended an observing fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at Roger Salengro Hospital, in Lille, France. She is co-author of book chapters on MSK radiology. Since 2019 she has been one of the coordinators of the Musculoskeletal Imaging Group of the Radiology Society of Rio de Janeiro and since 2013 she has been coordinating the monthly Musculoskeletal Imaging meeting of Rio de Janeiro`s Orthopedic Society.

Bordalo, Marcelo

Marcelo Bordalo

Dr. Marcelo Bordalo is the chief of Radiology at Aspetar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. He graduated with a degree in medicine, and completed a radiology residency, a musculoskeletal fellowship and a PhD at the University of São Paulo. He attended an observing fellowship at the MSK department of Universite Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and a research fellowship at the Hospital for Joint Diseases (New York). He is a member of the ISS and is also responsible for the South America ISS Outreach Program. He is the book editor of the MSK volume of the latest Brazilian College of Radiology book series and has authored and co-authored several book chapters and more than 60 peer reviewed articles. 

Aleixo, Carolina

Carolina Aleixo

Carolina Aleixo is a newly graduated doctor aiming to start her career in Radiology in Berlin. She grew up bilingually, with her two mother tongues being Portuguese and German. 
In 2022 she completed her medical studies in Prague and started to work on her doctoral thesis at Charité University Hospital in Berlin. Because of her interest in musculoskeletal radiology, she is conducting research on mechanical diseases of the sacroiliac joints and on possible aetiologies of this entity. For this purpose, she is evaluating pelvic X-ray images with suspected hip dysplasia in patients with mechanical and inflammatory diseases of the sacroiliac joints. 
She hopes to complete her thesis in the upcoming year and looks forward to future research projects with the rheumatogical radiology group at Charité.
