On November 8, radiologists and medical professionals worldwide celebrate the International Day of Radiology (IDoR), commemorating Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen’s groundbreaking discovery of X-rays in 1895. Each year, IDoR highlights radiology’s pivotal role in modern healthcare—from early diagnostics to cutting-edge treatments—through a focus on different subspecialties.
This year, we are seizing IDoR to shine a light on musculoskeletal (MSK) radiology, exploring key advancements in MRI like 7 Tesla scanner, fast MRI protocols, and synthetic CT. To mark the occasion, an expert panel of radiologists will discuss the recent developments in a free live-streamed session on November 8, 2024, at 15:00 CET. Moderated by radiologist Kay G. Hermann, the session invites you to engage with leading voices in radiology and gain insights into the field’s very latest news. The IDoR 2024 livestream will feature three leading experts, each presenting a specialized topic:
Discussing “The Utility of 7Tesla MRI.” Reto Sutter will explore who benefits from 7Tesla MRI and the unique diagnostic insights it offers over 3Tesla MRI.
Covering “6-Minute MRI Protocols in Radiology Departments.” Prof. Fritz will delve into how these quick protocols can streamline workflows, improve patient throughput, and the technical efforts involved in their implementation.
Exploring “Synthetic CT Images in MSK Radiology.” Dr. Jans will examine typical and less conventional applications of synthetic CT in musculoskeletal imaging, potential obstacles such as costs, and insights into methods beyond BoneMRI.
Moderating the session, Kay Hermann will guide discussions on the topics covered during the livestream, engaging each expert in live Q&A to deepen the insights shared with our audience.
After each lecture, a Q&A session will allow participants to interact directly with the speakers, creating an engaging, real-time learning experience.
